Responsibilities

During AmeriCorps Week (May 14-21), using your own mobile phone, send daily text messages (Tweets) about how you are sharing your AmeriCorps Story. You must send a minimum of 8 tweets.

Reports might include:

  1. Presented My AmeriCorps Story to 5 high school classes.
  2. The mayor is being an "honorary"
    AmeriCorps member for an hour.
  3. 200 books have been donated for our book drive.
  4. 4 AmeriCorps members and 1 alum met with our congresswoman.

During AmeriCorps Week (May 14-21), using your own mobile phone and/or digital camera, take photographs capturing sharing your AmeriCorps story and email/upload them to
Flickr. You will be expected to send
photographs, with captions, on a daily basis with a minimum of eight photos.

Please submit candid photos; rather than posed photos. Photos might include:

  1. Opening ceremony with guest speaker.
  2. AmeriCorps members speaking to a
    community group.
  3. AmeriCorps members/alum in service: painting, reading to children, conducting health fair, etc.
  4. Closing ceremony activities.

NOTE:  Please ensure that all volunteers have signed a photo release form

Requirements
  • You must have a mobile telephone with the ability to send text messages.
  • Not sure how to use twitter?  We will teach you.
 
  • You must have a mobile telephone with a built-in camera.  Alternatively, you can use a digital camera (if you have a computer on which you may upload photos hourly). 
  • Not sure how to use Flickr?  We will teach you.
